Essential Question: Human Trafficking( San Diego)

My Partner Anthony, and I decided to do an issue about Human Trafficking in San Diego our question is . How can we make people more aware of Human Trafficking in San Diego, and help eliminated it? The reason why we chose to do this issue because we read a book in our humanities called" Sold" it was about Human Trafficking in India, but we chose to do Human Trafficking in San Diego where we live.

Human Trafficking(San Diego): Latina Children At Risk

Summary:Since San Diego is a tourist town, military town, and a border town it is the ideal place for Human Trafficking. While reading an article in our organization it said that " 100 men per day a have sex with girls who are 7-18 years old". While reading that article I was surprise because I did not know that, that was going on especially in San Diego where I live. It's just so sad reading about that because some of the girls are kidnapped, and they dont know whats going on. Most of the girls are from Mexico, but when i was reading the article it says that the girls cross the border by false romantic entrapment which mean saying that your married to that person but your not.So I want to try to make people( San Diegans) aware about Human Trafficking in San Diego. I found to organization on Human Trafficking in San Diego.

Reflection: Reading this article made me really surprised of what is going in San Diego especially with girls my age. As I was reading more into the article I was even more surprised when i found out the ages of the girls. Now I figured i need to do something about because it just so sad.

Evdience:
  • Girls from the ages of 7-14 year olds are victims of this crime.
  • Some of the girls were kidnapped, and were in false marriage(saying the were married to the coyte).
  • 100 men per day sleeps with a girl

Questions:
1). What can we do as a community to help the girls who have been victims of this crimes?

2). What can we do to prevent from this crime from happening?

3). How can we get the president involved in this?
